Handy reference in case of an accident

Every member will receive a handy pack to keep in their car which contains helpful advice in case of an accident. The card has the number and email address of our incident centre as well as reminding you what details need to do at the scene of the accident.

1. Do not admit liability under any circumstances.

3. Obtain the following details from the other party/parties:
   • Name, address and phone number.
   • Vehicle registration number and make.
   • Name, address and phone number of any witnesses.
   • Notify the Police in the event of any personal injuries.

Terms and Conditions

Free service

The Accident Exchange service is free of charge. The service is designed to ease the burden of the logistics and legal concerns which arise from a non fault accident.

Subject to the terms detailed below, the service aims to provide assistance with the recovery of your vehicle to an approved Accident Repair Centre (should it be required) and to liaise with your insurance company to ensure that delays in the repair of your vehicle are minimised, keeping you informed of progress along the way.

Vehicle Provision

In the event of a non fault accident, we will provide a replacement vehicle on either a like for like basis for prestige marques or a category equivalent basis for mainstream brands whilst the original vehicle is in for repair.

Recovery

In the event of a non fault accident causing the immobilisation of your vehicle within the UK, we will arrange for the recovery of your vehicle to an approved Accident Repair Centre.

Should your vehicle remain mobile following a non fault accident, we will arrange an appointment for you to visit an approved Accident Repair Centre and, if required, a convenient time for your vehicle to be repaired and your replacement vehicles to be delivered.

Claims Notification

We will take relevant details from you regarding the accident and liaise with your insurance company when required.

Claims Administration for non fault accidents

In the event of your vehicle being recovered by us, we will liaise with the approved Accident Repair Centre and your insurance company regarding timely repairs to your vehicle.

Uninsured Loss Recovery
Assuming the accident is not your fault, we will pursue your claim. If in our opinion, you have reasonable prospects of success, we will negotiate your uninsured losses with the other driver’s insurance company. Depending on your motor insurance policy, uninsured loss recovery might include, for example:

• policy excess
• cost of repairs to your own vehicle
• hire car charges
• out of pocket expenses
• loss of earnings

Exclusions to the above

We are unable to claim expenses incurred by you should you hold a third party fire and theft motor insurance policy or third party only motor insurance policy.
